Aside from the entertainment, I believe sometimes we get something more of value from movies too. In an indirect way, movies do help us realise some things we may never have thought of before. I’ve always loved the movie IF ONLY, because it has taught me that TIME is the best gift one could ever receive.

Sometimes, we say lovely things and shower people with gifts because it’s our way of showing how much we adore them without realising that more than those, what they truly want from us is our time… for them to feel valued… for them not to be adored, but to truly be loved.
Ian, the guy from the movie said, “How can you love someone so much and not know how… how to love her?” I know most of us have experienced this dilemma one way or another. How do we truly love someone? How can words mean more than just words?
I don’t have a definite answer to this myself because people respond differently to things. But I do know that when you truly love someone, you’d choose them in a heartbeat. You’d make them feel everyday that they mean the world to you. Not just through words, but through your actions. Love isn’t always easy. It’s a choice. It is full of sacrifices. It’s a responsibility. It’s all those things and more.
If love then is difficult to keep, why do we fight every day just to have it? Simple. Because it’s worth it. Because without it, then what is it that we live for?
It must be the looming Valentine’s air, I have just seen this movie again for the nth time. If you haven’t, do yourself a favour and give it a bit of time. You’d be riding the feels train for sure.
I leave this question now to everyone: If you only have one day left to live, could you honestly say that you have made it worth it?
